Michael Dawson Calls for Focus Ahead of Tricky Fixtures

Hull City defender Michael Dawson has warned his teammates against the threat of relegation despite the club managing to get itself out of the drop zone following three wins in the last five games.

Wins over Swansea City, West Ham, and Middlesbrough helped the club get away from the bottom three of the Premier league, where they have been positioned for much of the season. After the appointment of Marco Silva, there has been a tremendous swing in results. Even though the club have been able to pull themselves out of the relegation zone, Dawson says that it is still too early for the players to get carried away with recent results.

The club have a tough period coming up with just one home game in the next four matches. Hull City are up against Manchester city, Stoke City, and Southampton on the road.

There is every possibility that the club could suffer a defeat in all these three games. The club has managed just one point in the way games since October. A huge reason behind the club’s upturn in form has been home games. Hull City are undefeated in the last seven games at the KCOM stadium. Dawson has called for the players to focus ahead of the trip to the Etihad stadium in order to face Manchester City.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve been out of the bottom three so it’s nice, but it’s about being out of the bottom three at the end of May. We won’t get carried away. We’ll look forward to each game with everything riding on it. We knew it was a big week but like the manager said, we know it wasn’t down to these two games. There’s plenty more points to play for,” said Dawson, who recently made a return from injury.
