Michael Dawson is a defender for Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League. He plays at the very centre of the Spurs defence, making last-ditch ball-winning challenges and encouraging his team-mates to get stuck in. Dawson is comfortable with the ball at his feet, rarely flustered by the opposition forwards, and has the technical ability to become a regular in the England first-team when Ferdinand and Terry have moved on.
Michael Dawson was one of England’s best defensive prospects when he arrived at White Hart Lane on 31st January 2005. After taking some time to settle in (having joined midway through the season), Dawson established himself at the heart of the Tottenham defence. He has linked up brilliantly over the years with Ledley King, and is now the centre-back partner of Jonathan Woodgate.
He has become a key member of the Spurs side, captaining them on occasion and leading the team from the back even when he isn’t wearing the armband.
