Michael Dawson Aiming To Inspire Nottingham Forest To Top-Flight Return

Michael Dawson has taken a reverse form where it all started on a mission to conclude what he begins with the Nottingham Forest. It is thirteen-and-a-half years when Dawson left the club. He started his football journey with the club watching from the terraces the player while he was the teenage trainee. And now a wiser and a more experienced Dawson has come back to the team with the goal of adding one achievement to his already impressive CV.

He became the part of different club and after the flood of cash and fascinating overseas signings, he finds himself being talked up in the middle of the favorites for promotion. Dawson believes he can handle the team when it is under pressure.  When asked about his return to the team, he “For me it is a full circle. Coming back in the team is like happiness which is eternal.”

DAWSON HOPES NOTTINGHAM IMPROVES

Michael Dawson has asked the Nottingham Forest side to improve ahead of the new season. He says they have enough time to further get their acts together in the pre-season. Nottingham Forest played a 2-2 draw with Oldham Athletic in their recent pre-season fixture, and it seems to have left Dawson frustrated.

The defender said the team did not reach their usual height in the game played at Boundary Park. The Reds dominated the game from early on but they were not sharp to take advantages of all their opportunities. They scored first but started to relax while their opponents grew stronger.

Spurs To Resist Kane Exit

Tottenham Hotspur, who have sold Gareth Bale and Luka Modric to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the past, are insistent on keeping their star striker Harry Kane. Real Madrid are rumoured to be interested in the prolific goalscorer.

Madrid are set for an overhaul this summer after struggling in the league this term and with an uncertain future in Europe. Kane, who has won back to back Premier League Golden Boot, could significantly boost the club’s goalscoring chances next season.

Dawson on Hull’s form

Michael Dawson said that the players are not satisfied with the current form of the team and that they are working hard in order to change the fortunes of the club. As the club captain, he said that it is his duty to motivate the players and ensure that they improve their performance.

He said that there had been a meeting between some senior players as well as the manager as they look for ways to improve the club form.

DAWSON STILL HAS FAITH

Back on September 27 of the ongoing year, Hull City was located in a position of despair as they had either suffered defeats or draws in a successive manner. Starting from September 8 until 26, the team of Leonid Slutsky played 5 English League Championship matches and could not secure a single victory as they were either losses or ties which are a huge drop of points.

Michael Dawson has been performing for Hull City since 2014 and after going through such a disappointing streak of underwhelming results, the 33 year old defender admitted that things had been very difficult for his team but Dawson was certain that they would be able to recover and bounce back quickly.

HULL CAPTAIN DAWSON BELIEVES IN SLUTSKY

Championship side Hull city shocked many when they named Russian coach Leonid Slutsky the replacement for Marco Silva following their relegation from the Premier League. Silva was also a doubt when he was employed to help the club stay afloat last term. Though he failed in his mandate, he was praised for his efforts at turnaround.

Hull City skipper Michael Dawson opines that Slutsky would prove doubters wrong just like Silva did with his achievements in the short stint. Pundits claimed Silva would not be able to deliver his mandate when he was named the successor to Mike Phelan. He was thought clueless and not fit for the Premier League.

DAWSON SAYS HULL CAN BE INSPIRED BY LEICESTER ‘GREAT ESCAPE’

Leicester City’s Surprise achievement in winning their maiden English Premier League crown last season stand as reason to believe anything is now possible in the Premier League.

But for Hull defender, Michael Dawson, it is the foxes’ relegation survival in the previous campaign that will inspire the Tigers for 2017.

Before Leicester first began to upset odds to win the Premier League under Claudio Ranieri last term, they had produced an impressive run to escape relegation to the Championships.

Seven wins from the last nine of the 2014/2015 season saw Nigel Pearson’s side pull themselves out of the foot of the Premier League table and eventually survived at a canter. As a result, it was Hull, then led by Steve Bruce who joined Burnley and QPR in dropping to the second tier.

Leicester City are still one of only three clubs – and the most recent – to have been bottom of the Premier League at Christmas and escaped relegation, and Dawson is refusing to give up hope of the Tigers following suit.
Dawson said: “I look at Leicester a couple of year ago, they give us hope. We were nine points clear and could have gone 12 with another win. Instead, we drew and stayed at nine. Leicester went on to stay up and we went down.”

Although Crystal Palace, who recently sacked Alan Pardew, remain on the same points (16) with the Tigers, a poor run so far has seen City in danger of falling off the pace at the foot of the division. Despite beating Bournemouth a forth night ago, a lot of chances were spurned in a galling 2-0 defeat to Chelsea last time out. Dawson accepts that has to change.

Burnley, Leicester, Middlesbrough and Swansea have all made their way out of trouble with wins in recent weeks, leaving City sandwiched between Crystal Palace and Sunderland in the bottom three.
